OBJECTIVE: To gain rewarding full time or part time employment where I can share my knowledge and experience in Radiology with you. I am seeking a home-based position as a Radiology Editor or Radiology MT. I am looking for a company that offers good benefits. I am an Acute Care/Diagnostic Radiology MT/Editor. I have years of experience in MRI, MRA, Arteriogram, CT, Nuclear Medicine, PET, Venous Ultrasound, routine roentgen studies, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound including all phases of Radiology. I have experience in Special Procedures. Radiology is my great love.
EXPERIENCE: 35+ years experience as a Radiology MT with 7 years experience as a Radiology Editor. Self-taught Radiology terminology, anatomy, word processing and Meditech program which many hospitals throughout the country use. I am reliable and strive for perfection.
03/23/06-11/13/06: I served an eight month term as Clerk of the Circuit Court for Dixie County, Florida. I was appointed as Clerk by Governor Jeb Bush. I lost as a Republican in the General Election due to it being a strictly Democrat county. I worked as Clerk-Auditor for the Board of County Commissioners. I managed 17 employees. Carried out all the duties required of a Clerk of Circuit Court. I have proven leadership skills.
1/02/99-04/18/06: I worked as a Radiology MT and after 7 months was promoted in June of 2000 to Radiology Editor for Spheris. I worked at home and loved it. I edited Radiology reports for several hospitals across the country. While working for Spheris, I saved the company $300,000, saved an account and gained two more accounts for the company. While working for Spheris and at the same time serving as Clerk of the Circuit Court, I decided I had to resign from one or the other. I had pneumonia and was working at night for Spheris. I resigned without proper notice which I have vowed never to do again. I have always been noted for my integrity and felt I should include this in my resume. I loved being an Editor in Radiology. Some of my duties included being a mentor for MTs. I trained all new MTs. I filled in for supervisors when they were away- sometimes covering for two supervisors at one time. I would be given hospital accounts across the United States along with the Account Specifics and I would learn each account. The MTs would put reports in a "Held" position in Meditech, I would pull up the dictation, print out the report and edit each hard copy, make any corrections needed, fill in any missing words or blanks, spell check every Held report and then submit to the appropriate Radiologist for signature. I was responsible for QA. When time permitted, I transcribed Radiology reports. The company provided me with all equipment and materials. I now have my own computer with WindowsXP, Word, etc. I have Bellsouth Dial-Up with a Bellsouth accelerator. My connection is very fast. I can stay online for hours with no problem. I have a Dictaphone C-phone, headset and foot pedal.
I have experience with Lanier transcribers as well. I have Stedman's spell checker on my computer plus a plethora of reference books including updated ones. I did a lot of "teaching" of terminology for Special Procedures as a lot of transcriptionists had never transcribed Special Procedures.
01/96-03/97: Osceola Regional Medical Center, Kissimmee, Florida. Supervisor of Transcription. Managed 8 transcriptionists. Provided Radiology TAT at 10 minutes to 4 hours. Was responsible for scheduling employees. I also was responsible for computerized payroll. I transcribed Radiology as time permitted. I was transcribing at night to help Kissimmee Outpatient Center become current and was offered a full time position as lead MT. I took the offer.
03/97-11/02/99: Kissimmee Outpatient Center. Lead MT (only MT for 7 months). I transcribed all Radiology reports. This facility has been sold three times or more. The only employee who is still there that I know is Linda Saitta in CT. My husband retired in October, I was hired by Edix (now Spheris) in October of 1999 and we moved to Horseshoe Beach, Fl. in late October. I worked at home for Spheris from November 02, 1999 until April 18, 2006.
I lived in North Carolina for several years and worked at St. Joseph's Hospital in Asheville, N. C. and also later worked at McDowell Hospital. I do not remember the dates as it was several years ago. I transcribed Radiology reports at both hospitals.
