    I am currently seeking employment in the field of Medical Transcription.  I am, through degree, certification, or associated job experiences, qualified to perform duties such as Licensed Vocational Nurse, Emergency Medical Technician, Hazardous Material Manager, or Business Administrator. 

     

     

    Summary of Qualifications

     

    I have successfully managed several hospital units, their personnel, and budgets during a distinguished military and civilian career.  These units include:  Medical Care, Intensive Care, Emergency Room, Immunization Clinic, Orthopedic Clinic, Cardiac Care, General Medicine, and a Medical Step-down Unit.  I am certified in Emergency Medical Treatment, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, and handling Hazardous Materials.  I am experienced with managing large accounts and handling expensive supplies and equipment.  My leadership and management skills have been awarded on several occasions.

    Performed duties as supervisor one year for fifteen military Emergency Room Technicians and twelve Korean National Ambulance Drivers.  Supervised an Intensive Care and an Immunization Clinic over the following fifteen months.  Received a Meritorious Service Award for career accomplishments.

    Performed as supervisor of an Intensive Care unit for three years earning one letter of accommodation for superior performance.  Leadership abilities were recognized by supervisors who offered a challenging job opportunity as Housing Manager for two Military villages that contained over 2,000 occupants:  men, women, and children.  As Housing Manager I lobbied and received funding for a recreation center for the youths.  I also created three forms that were utilized by all the housing communities for improved job performance and communication.

    Performed duties as a supervisor on a Medical Care Ward for one year and supervised an Intensive Care Unit for three years.  Received a staff promotion and two certificates of accommodation for superior job accomplishment.

     

    Licensed Practical Nurse                                                   August 1987 – July 1989

    United States Army, Fort Ord, California

     

    Served as a Practical Nurse on a Level II Newborn Nursery for eight months before becoming the supervisor of an Immediate Care Ward.  Managed work schedules, supplies and equipment for twenty-one personnel in addition to performing patient care duties.  Earned two letters of achievement and a staff promotion for services rendered over this two year period.

     

    Medical Care Specialist                                                   March 1982 – August 1987

    United States Army, Fort Leonardwood, Missouri

     

    Provided basic medical care to civilian and military personnel and their families:  this care included basic wound cleaning, bandaging, splinting, immobilizing breaks of fractures, patient monitoring, suturing cuts, basic rehabilitation, cold and heat applications, personnel safety, basic head to toe assessment, and nutritional care.  My work was recognized by two letters of exemplary achievement and a selection to attend the Army Nurse program to earn certification as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.

     

    Shipping and Handling Clerk                                         June 1981 – March 1982

    Stranco Electrical Products, Chicago, Illinois

     

    Managed incoming and outgoing supply shipments for the mother company and six sister companies.  Managed shelf stock levels and reorder levels of electrical products.  Reported any unexplained discrepancies.  Received a pay raise during this nine month period before joining the United States Army to change career paths.
