Objective: Part-time at home medical transcription

I am looking for a part-time position as an at-home medical transcriptionist, with an eye toward eventual full-time employment as an at-home transcriptionist. I currently work full time in a medical office, doing transcription that is mostly office visits and nursing home visits. I would be available to transcribe between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. central standard time on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and as needed on weekends. I have a high speed DSL cable and a Wav-pedal. I am familiar with Express-Scribe.

I wear several hats in this office, including office manager, posting charges, bookkeeping, and assisting with receptionist duties when needed. I am the sole transcriptionist in this office, and have been serving in that capacity for 27 years. I transcribe office notes into our computerized medical records program. I also transcribe the nursing home visit notes for two nursing facilities in our community. In addition I handle all the correspondence for Dr. Han and David Puskala, PA-C. Before we had scanning capabilities, I typed radiology reports, history and physical examinations, discharge summaries and emergency room reports into our electronic records system. At the present time I scan and edit reports and correspondence from other facilities, such as the Marshfield Clinic, the Mayo Clinic, Marquette General Hospital, and others.
