Attended 20-hours course on English for Administrative Staff for Department of Surgery, conducted by Centre of English Language (Employee), the Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi, from March 12 to April 10, 2002. SHORT HAND: Experience of short hand and presently using Dicta/Transcriber machine. TYPING : Attained speeds 50/60 w.p.m. COMPUTER : Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point etc. Good commands in making Charts, Transparencies, Slides, Table and Laser work etc. LANGUAGE : English, Urdu, Bengali (written and spoken) and some knowledge of Arabic language (Shoae Arabi Maloom). Presently working at the Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi, since June 1991, as Medical Secretary in the Department of Surgery. During this period I have worked for the Chairman of the department and other services viz. General Surgery, Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Pediatric Surgery. ADMINISTRATIVE WORK EXPERIENCE: Dealing with Under-graduate Student affairs: ? Coordinating and assisting in conducting OSCE / VIVA End of Term Professional (MBBS Phase II) Exam for ENT. ? Computation / preparation of MBBS Phase-II (ENT) Results. ? Preparing, arranging and distribution of handouts to ENT & Ped. Surg., Medical students. ? Preparation and compiling of MBBS Phase-III student's evaluation of presentation. ? Assisting in preparing MBBS Phase-III Clerkship rotation. ? Assisting in conducting Spot Exam and Term End Examination of Department of Surgery. ? Type comments of Students Appraisal of ENT Faculty. Postgraduates/Fellowship: • Assisting and helping ENT Postgraduate's programme as well as Fellowship programme in Pediatric Surgery. • Preparing, arranging and distribution of handouts and Daily Roster of Ped. Surg., Residents. • Coordinating and assisting in conducting Monthly Meeting of Association of Pediatric Surgeons of Pakistan. • Coordinating and assisting in conducting Combined Hospitals Meeting of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery. • Combined Surgical Meeting between different hospitals: (Arranging venue, audiovisual equipment, transport and refreshment for the meeting). Mortality and Morbidity Meeting: ? Solely responsible for coordinating and preparing Mortality list for Department of Surgery and arranging Meetings twice a month. After meeting, preparation of final discussion “Confidential Summary of Operative Death” for submission to the Department Chair and maintain record keeping with full confidentiality. ? I have introduced a new trend in the Department of Surgery of Compiling Data "Elective/Emergency Cases done in Operating Room (OR) / Surgery Day Care (SDC) and Mortality" (surgeon wise) for each service (viz. General Surgery, Orthopedic, Urology, Pediatric Surgery, Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology, Cardiac Surgery). Submit every month to the Chairman of the Department. ? Compilation of Monthly Data "Surgeon & Service wise OR & SDC cases done and hours utilized". Submit every month to the Chairman, Department of Surgery. ? Compilation of Monthly Data for Faculty Evaluation "Elective, Add-on/Emergency, SDC and Clinical Services" (Number of OR sessions, Number of Allocated Hours, Number of Utilized Hours, Number of cases, Duration per case. Number of Clinical sessions per week, Total clinical sessions, New patients seen, Follow-up patients, Brief/Procedures, No charge, Total patients seen in Consulting Clinic and in Community Health Center). ? Preparing and keeping record of Morbidity for Pediatric Surgery. ? Preparing and keeping record of Morbidity for ENT-Head and Neck Surgery. In addition to my above responsibilities, I also do the following day to day activities and in absence of Admin Officer of the department, I had also entrusted acting Admin Officer's responsibility. • Preparing agendas and minutes of meetings • Arranging accommodation for meeting and liaison with attendees • Administrative function of the services (ENT & Ped. Surg.) • Preparing and assisting in listing of publications for the Faculty of Health Sciences Research Committee and Aga Khan University • Filing and record keeping • Making travel arrangements • Transcribing memos and letters • Typing medical summaries, Articles and referral letters etc. • Preparing slides presentations • Assisting residents in word processing, graphic presentations and compiling dissertations. ARABIAN AMERICAN OIL COMPANY (ARAMCO) Saudi Arabia, as 'Secretary' for 6 ½ years, Ex-Employee # 75943 April 1984 to September 1990. During this period I have been assigned to different Departments viz. Marine, Oil Terminal, Loss Prevention, Industrial Security, Office Services etc. I come across lot of American & Saudi officers viz David Miller, Rodney Soomner, Jerald Kennedy, Ali Tawlah, Ibrahim Jaffar, Saleh Al Ghamdi and grasps good amount of experiences of different jobs. It is noteworthy that on recognition of my good performance I was promoted to higher grade 28, effective November 1, 1990, but due to family circumstances I left ARAMCO, on September 12, 1990. PAKISTAN AUTOMOBILE CORPORATION LTD., (PACO), as 'Confidential Secretary' to Mr. Waseem Haqqie, presently Chairman, Board of Investment, Government of Pakistan, Islamabad and the then General Manager (Finance), PACO. January 1981 to April 1984. PAKISTAN STEEN FABRICATING CO. LTD./PAKISTAN STEEL, as Stenographer / Secretary from June 1975 to December 1980. Responsibilities: a.
